Horse Head Walking Stick Cane w/ Hidden Knife

This is a hidden sword cane with a stylized warrior horse head handle. The handle is 4.75" long. Cane is 33.5" long. Sword inside is 14.75" long to the base of the handle...18.5" to top of handle. Sword is marked Pakistan.

There is a .5" scratch across the width on one side of the sword and a little rust on each side of the sword's edge near the tip which could be removed with sharpening. Black body of cane feels like aluminum and still has plastic sleeve for protection.

The cane weighs one pound and 3 ounces. I believe this was in someone's collection and has never been used other than for display.

This is a neat old shabby book printed in 1849 or 1850 from what I found on the internet. Hardback with some staining on back cover. The spine has frayed edges at top and bottom and spots of lost color. Front has oval of a lady and artwork of red flowers which are on the spine also. Binding is still very good except for the contents page which shows fabric and looks weak. Pages are yellowed and dark. One page had been folded a couple times but is still all there. Some writing inside cover and owner's name on contents page. A few pages have small tears at edges. 480 pages. 5" by 7.25".

I have read where this book is hard to find. E.D.E.N. Southworth was a lady writer with lots to say about women's lifes in those times. This book is said to reflect some of her life as her husband left her when she was pregnant with their second child.

This is one of the books in the Macmillan Elementary History Series--New Edition for intermediate grades. Copyright 1961. 280 pages. I can find no writing anywhere in this book, only a Property of the Office of Winnebago County Superintendent of Schools stamp and a Stephen Mack Comm. Consol District #139 stamp on the inside of the cover and the first page. This book is a teacher's edition so it has a front section of 60 blue pages with teacher instructions for each unit. Also, it has teacher suggestions in red print throughout the book. This hardback is made of gray cloth with nice graphics. Back shows a covered wagon and cowboy riding a horse. This book overall is in very good shape and measures 7.5" by 9.5".

3 Ult Gschonwald Small Saucers

These three saucers are shiny on the top but the back of them have lost their shine. I have tried ammonia water on them thinking it was a haze that would soak off , but no such luck. Also, one has a crow's foot crack on the bottom center of one that does not come through to the top of the saucer. Not knowing how rare these are, I decided to group these three together in case someone really needed them and was not concerned about the appearance of the backs. So these are offered together for the $6 as a result. Cobalt blue and gold striping and they also have the Ult Gschonwald backstamps with the number 322 on two and 151 on the one with the crow's foot.

This large white coffeepot is stamped in green on the bottom, Eschenbach, Bavaria, Germany with a crown over that. Dated in the midcentury, this pot is 9" tall by 10.5" wide including handle and spout. It is decorated with a 1/8" wide imitation gold band and a 1/8" cobalt blue band followed by two thin lines of gold. This pot looks like it has never been used.

Wrought Farberware Silent Butler has a lovely floral handle that I think looks like lily of the valley. Pan is 8" across. Handle is 2" by 4". Bottom is stamped Wrought Farberware with some wear to the logo. The lid has a couple tarnish spots on it and I think the knob is bakelite.

A nice vintage rolling pin with green handles. Main body is 10.5" long...with handles included 18". The handles actually look like they have been painted because there are two shades of green. The lighter paint has worn away to show the original green paint which adds some character. There are some spots on the rolling pin and a 1.5" drip stain from something. Price reflects this.

Made in Holland by Societe Ceramique Maestricht, this brown transferware design is called Tea Drinker. It shows a man and woman having tea in the garden with a small dog begging and a butler waiting to serve from a distance. Has the backstamp of the Societe that was used from 1863 to 1958 and also has an impressed stylized A and E on the bottom of the plate. Plate measures 7" across with no chips or cracks.

What a lovely pair of vintage feather bird pictures from Mexico! One is red with gray and black feathers and the other is mainly gray with a pink head and red wing. On brown paperbackground, there is handpainted branches and leaves. Both are in hand carved frames under glass. Frames are 4.75" by 6.75" with pictures 3" by 5". The red bird has some fuzz maybe from the black feathers on the inside of the glass below the bird. The gray bird has a couple stains on the background at the bottom and left side. Both pictures are stamped Hecho en Mexico (Made in Mexico) on the back. Backs have tears in backing paper.

A very nice set of salt & pepper shakers, these are made by Pyrex in the Woodland Brown pattern. Pyrex Made in USA is on the stoppers. 4.5" tall with stoppers, 3.75" without.

Woodland Brown is a pattern that has been discontinued by Corelle. I have a dinner plate and a Pyrex mixing bowl in this pattern also for sale.
